Stedelijk architectuur: Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
In September 2012, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam was grandly and festively reopened following an eight-year renovation. The striking new white extension, designed by Benthem Crouwel Architekten—popularly known as ’the bathtub’—is the subject of this richly illustrated publication. In *Stedelijk architectuur*, featuring photographs by internationally renowned architectural photographer Iwan Baan and floor plans, cross-sections, and details of the new building, architecture critic Hans Ibelings describes the history of the museum, from the opening of the old building by architect Weissman in 1895 to the completion of the high-profile new construction. Architect Mels Crouwel explains the building in an interview.
